                              NAMGYAL INSTITUTE OF TIBETALOGY

5 minute walk from deorali ropeway and on the way to deorali chorten is Namgyal institute for Tibetalogy. If you are interested in  Buddhism then Namgyal institute is world renowned centre for study of Buddhist philosophy and religion. It has over 200 Buddhist icons and rare collection of antiques like statutes, coin and thankas.The library and museum of the institute are open to the public from 10am to 4pm on all working days. Recently Dalai Lama visited this place.

                                     DEORALI CHORTEN

Situated in the top of hill is deorali chorten ,built by late trisi rinpoche ,head of nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism in 1945.inside the chorten are set of khangyur (holy books),relics,complete mantra and other religious books.around the chorten ,there are 108 small prayer wheels with the mystics mantra”OM MANI PADME HUNG”inscribed on them.

ENCHEY MONASTERY

This 200 yrs.old beautiful monastery is located in hill top near t.v tower about 2 km from M.G Marg,gangtok.this monastery is blessed by the great tantric lama druotab karpo after he flew here from mainam hill. The monastery follow nyingma order and main pujas and dances(chame)are held here every year before Tibetan losar (usually falls between Feb. to march).

TASHI VIEW POINT

Tashi view point is the favourite location for mountain lovers.from here one can good view of mt.kanchenzonga but I must tell you best time is morning .cup of coffee and breakfast with good view of mountain and hills would be best thing to do here in Tashi view point.it is 7 km from gangtok and on the way to ganesh tok and Himalayan zoological park.it is well connected by road and atm facilities is also there.

Himalayan zoological park

Just 8km from gangtok via Tashi view point is Himalayan zoological park also kown as “bulbuley” locally.it has an area of 205 hectare, housed many aimals like red panda barking deer,snow leopard,spotted deer,birds and many more.it has motorable road of 3km run through the park.
